WHITE TAIL DEER HUNTS
Experience a true central Alabama whitetail hunt with over 5,000 acres of intensely managed property that offers 100% fair chase hunt.
We have several green fields to choose from ranging from a ½ acre to 2 acres with a year round feeding program. We also have corn fields, cotton fields, wheat fields, and soy bean fields from 40 acres to 100 acres. All fields have a shooting house placed on them.
Cook's Family Farm also offers over 100 ladder stands, climbers, and loc - ons strategically placed in the woods ready for the big one to walk by.
We have 2 ruts. They occur early to mid January and late January. However some of our larger deer are harvested during bow season, youth hunt weekend, muzzle loader season, and last but not least opening weekend.
A typical hunt will begin with a 4:00 a.m. wake-up call followed by a small breakfast.
Guides will pick up hunters no later than 5:00 a.m. The guides will walk you all the way to your stand.
Guides will return to pick you up at 11:30 for a quick lunch break unless otherwise instructed by the hunter.
The guide will be back to pick you up at 1:00 p.m. for the afternoon hunt. The afternoon hunts are typically sitting in a shooting house over looking a food plot unless you prefer to sit in one of our other stands in the woods. The guide will pick you up at dark.
Every evening at Cook's Cabin we will have a nice campfire going inside and out for you to relax and tell your stories on how you harvested the big one or how the big one got away while we prepare a nice meal for you. If you prefer shooting pool or just watching satellite T.V. we have that as well.
